FFI presented various ingredients for both food and beverage industries including tea & herbal extract, coffee extract, cold soluble gelatin, cheese powder, milk caramel powder and yoghurt powder.
Food and beverage recipes, under the theme “Coffee & Tea Café”, allowed participants to taste and exchange their comments.

The seminar provided a complete overview of hair care and color cosmetics trends. The color cosmetics presentations were held by BASF Colors & Effect’s experts; Mr. David Lay, Head of Sales ASEANA and Mr. Jun Xu, Marketing Manager Asia Pacific, as well as experts of ZI-LIFE; Mr. Chutawat Wattana, Business Development Manager.
Participates were also able to experience new concepts of formulation and newly focused chemicals from EVONIK for hair care by ZI-LIFE’s expert team.

ZI-Life’s supply partner; Evonik, received the Best Ingredients Award at In-Cosmetic Asia 2018 for their innovative ingredient RHEANCE® One. This is the second time this year that Evonik received an award for this ingredient after presenting for the first time at In-Cosmetic Europe in Amsterdam.

Zuellig Industrial’s business unit ZI-LIFE/Philippines and Thailand together with the stevia producer Almendra hosted scientific seminars in Manila and Bangkok.
The world-renowned expert for artificial sweeteners, Dr Grant DuBois from Atlanta/USA, presented his findings about the ‘Molecular Mechanisms of Sweetness Sensation’.
The active compounds of stevia can have up to 150 times the sweetness of sugar, are heat-stable, pH-stable, and not fermentable. Stevia also has a negligible effect on blood glucose, which makes stevia attractive to people on carbohydrate-controlled diets.

The ZI-LIFE ‘AAK Academy’ Specialty Vegetable Oils & Fats in Dairy Application seminar was a great success with more than 30 participating customers.
Many dairy applications and benefits were assessed and reviewed during the event. This included the theoretical aspects of specialty oils and fats to be used in dairy applications as well and the functionalities of using dairy fat alternatives. The theory was followed by sensory tastings of product samples from Europe.

ZI-CHEM has recently completed the plant trial of their Dust Suppressant for an international mining company in Indonesia. This product is an environmentally friendly, proprietary blend of polymer that is designed for use for multiple applications including mine haul roads, stockpiles, longwall mining.
The trial was able to demonstrate the capability of ZI-CHEM to create compounds that bind the surface together and form a crust, within hot sunshine and normal traffic condition after up to 4 hours the dusty road condition was still under control.
The trial result was considered an impressive success by our customer.
ZI-CHEM’s new chemical technologies improve Corrosion Protection Program of edible oils refinery plant in Riau-Sumatera, Indonesia

One of major edible oils refinery plant in Riau – Sumatera recently has invited ZI-CHEM to provide technical advice related to their corrosion problem in after boiler system. This CPO refinery plant has a high pressure boiler that supply steam for both power plant and process plant. They have been using sodium sulfite as FDA compliant oxygen scavenger.
After a detailed investigation by ZI-CHEM technical support, it was conluded that the usage of sodium sulfite as oxygen scavenger is the main cause of corrosion problems in the boiler system. In high pressure boiler systems sodium sulfite breaks down at pressures as low as 600 psig (41 bar abs) resulting in the formation of sulfur dioxide or hydrogen sulfide. Both are corrosive gases, which leave the boiler with steam, resulting in low pH steam and condensate and potential attack throughout the system.
ZI-CHEM then offered new chemical technologies that is suitable for high pressure boiler and has FDA approval as well. This improvement program will be applied in the plant immediately.
ZI-CHEM introduces a chloride-free oxidizing biocides and dispersants

ZI-CHEM in Thailand has recently developed the application new products based on advanced oxidizing biocide technology for Cooling Water Microbiological Control.
These products are a high concentration of aqueous solution of chlorine free oxidizing biocides and dispersants. This has proven to be effective to improve cooling system efficiency to reducing biological and algal slime. Also, because this technology does not contribute to chlorides like other programs, significant reductions in water consumption from reduced blowdown is possible in chloride-sensitive systems.
After several trials, this technology has become the product of choice for systems that require a strong chlorine-free oxidizing biological control program.

Success story on ZI-CHEM field trial on a major Geothermal plant in West Java

The production rate of electricity that can be generated at a geothermal power plant is heavily dependent on the control of microbiological slime in the plant condenser cooling system.
ZI-CHEM has recently completed the plant trial for a Microbiological Control Program at an international geothermal company in Indonesia. This program comprised of a unique oxidizing biocide and bio dispersant combination to control microbiological growth in cooling tower.
The trial demonstrated the capability of ZI-CHEM’s biocide and bio dispersant products to control microbiological growth below the control limit at a reasonable cost. This program also proved effective at reducing consumption of other chemicals needed to maintain pH levels in the cooling water.
The trial result is the considered significant success by the management of the customer and accepted as a future program for the plant.

Almost the entire world runs on oil and once drawn from the bowels of the earth we’ve learned how to manipulate this natural resource, harvesting over 6,000 biproducts. From the early days, containing process. Advances in technology have had to keep pace with an increasing demand that seems to know no limits as new fields become viable in remote areas once thought impossible to access.
Zero Heat Exchanger Leaks
Thai Oil was delighted at that groundbreaking news because yes, there had been no leaks of oil or hydrocarbons through heat exchangers into the water cooling systems for a whole year.
Cooling water is circulated through thousands of meters of piping and several hundred heat exchangers and hydrocarbon byproducts, it must remain flowing and the heat transfer surfaces kept clean.
If pipes or heat exchangers become blocked or corroded as a result of incorrect water chemistry or hydrocarbons leaking into the cooling water, which then contributes to the accelerated growth of the including production loss from unscheduled maintenance and repair or premature replacement of expensive heat exchangers.
The Solution

ZI-CHEM in Philippines has recently launched the ZI-CHEM 9611 Ethylene Absorber product for fruits, flowers and vegetables industry.
ZI-CHEM 9611 Ethylene Absorber is an innovative product that is critical to delaying ripening of fresh produce during shipping and storage.
This product consists of a proprietary blend of dry powder formulation contained in a sachet of patented Tyvek® porous paper fabric. It removes gasses such as ethylene and other pollutants that are emitted by the fruit during storage and transportation.
Correct application of this product extends the storage life of the fruit, reducing financial loss due to ripening sooner than when it can reach the customer. This cost of this product is much lower than the cost of lost fruit from early ripening.
ZI-CHEM Chemical Program Extend Operation Life of RO Membranes

The operational life of Reverse Osmosis membranes at an independent power producer (IPP) plant in Sumatra Indonesia. have been more than doubled by the correct application of ZI-CHEM RO maintenance chemical program.
This saved considerable costs, by delaying the need to purchase replacement membranes for more than 4 years.
It also ensured the RO plant could operate at maximum capacity of high-purity water for a longer period without interruption. This is critical for the steam boiler plant which generates power and provides steam for the plant operation.
This good result was considered a highly successful by the plant owners who recommended ZI-CHEM be used for future expansion projects.

Training for technical group was started a few years ago by conducting Hazard Identification and Risk Assessment (HRA) to avoid accidents from happening and to manage the risks in every activity. The Company also cascades this training and best practice with our customer so they can also react as well to the risks or events especially when we are not around their vicinity. Last April 1, 2014, we conducted HRA training with one of our new customers, a cold storage plant. The training was highly appreciated by our new client thus they endorsed us to their Cold Storage Association as a member.

On Saturday, 2nd February 2019, Zuellig group in Thailand launched its 70th Anniversary celebrations at BITEC with theme: Be Zuellig – be YOU.
In 1949, the Zuellig Group opened a branch in Thailand, then called F.E. Zuellig (Bangkok) Ltd. The company initially imported textiles and then specialized in technical products and in the marketing and distribution of pharmaceuticals, healthcare products, agrochemicals and animal health products.

As every year ZI-TEC’s supply partner; PFERD had a large group of runners at the Cologne marathon at the start. A reason enough for ZI-TEC to sponsor a Thai-Trophy for the company fastest woman and the fastest man.
Lena Berghoff ran the 42,195 km in 4 hours and 11 minute, Andrew Allen was the fastest man with 4 hours and 26 seconds. The trophies were handed over by Mrs. Chotiros, Managing Director of PFERD/ Thailand and Mr. Wenderoth, HR Director of PFERD on the occasion of the international sales meeting.

This was a successful event, and we gathered a selection of tools and accessories to showcase to around 40 customers. Guests from our principals also participated, and 6 experts were on hand to demonstrate and talk about the features and benefits of a range of products available through partnership with ZI-TEC.

2015 was a great year for ZI-TEC and our dealer and distribution network in Thailand.
With many additions to our tools program – the offerings to the market are very attractive and we achieved great business results – all as a result of our growth strategy, confidence and hard work in propelling these products into the market.
Finally, we celebrated this success together with our business partners and enjoyed a 4-day trip with our dealers in Kyoto, Nara and Osaka during 16-20 March 2016.
